A. Letter of interest: why do you want to join San Andreas Highway Patrol? (150 words)
There are many reasons why I want to become a trooper, but chief amongst them is being able to tackle what I believe is currently the biggest issue of the state: the rise of reckless drivers on highways and freeways. I have always thought that driving on public roads is one of the most risky activities that people do on a daily basis, and it is even more dangerous on the ones without speed limits – those should especially be free from illegal racers, drunks, abandoned pickup trucks, and the like. This is something I definitely wish to help contribute towards.
Another big motivator is my inability to sit still and waste time, knowing that there is always more room for impactful action when it comes to upholding the law. My career so far in the San Andreas Sheriff's Department, which is the law enforcement agency that I currently serve with today, has made me realise that I will never truly feel like I am doing enough for our citizens. I constantly want to do more work. I want to perform specialised checkpoints, high-speed patrols, and similar duties. Hopefully, in doing so, I can make everyone just a bit safer.
B. How would you describe yourself (in full sentences)?
I am calm and unassuming most of the time, but my behaviour can change depending on what kind of energy other people around me give off. When it matters, I can be direct and firm. Then, on other occasions, I can be a lot more easygoing. I am overall pretty flexible in this regard.
