Joining the San Andreas Fire Department would be a fulfillment of my lifelong ambition to protect and serve a community through an emergency response and rescue solution. I have tremendous commitment to my work; I enjoy being part of a team and can handle the pressure very well. I am excited about the challenge of responding to the call of fire and rescue, as well as medical emergency response. Joining the SAFD allows me the opportunity to give back to the community while developing my skills in an environment of discipline and purpose.
Describe with your own words, what does it mean to be a Firefighter or alternatively, a Paramedic [Minimum 50 words]:
As a firefighter or paramedic, you give up your life for the life of others and are always prepared to run into the emergencies, if there's one coming up. You're always cool under pressure, made to act quick, and your decisions save lives. Firefighters sacrifice their lives to put the flames out, save a life, or protect their property, while the paramedic provides critical out-of-hospital medical care. Both roles are courageous, team-oriented, and selfless. It's more than just a profession; it is a commitment to service, protection, and change, on a daily basis.
