THE LEGAL LOOP LLP
I. OPENING STATEMENT
I, Otis Spuckler, Managing Partner of The Legal Loop, LLP, licensed attorney within the State of San Andreas, hereby appear before this Court and, on behalf of my Client, Newsweek San Andreas, abbreviated as (NSA), and its Board Member and Copyright Holder, Mr. Mark Garrick, collectively hereinafter the Plaintiff, respectfully file this Complaint for Copyright Infringement against Stateline Network, abbreviated as (SLN), hereinafter the Defendant.
This action arises out of the Defendant's audacious and willful use of the copyrighted and protected vehicle color scheme, specifically the Dark Blue and Black color scheme of Plaintiff's vehicle (model: Newsvans). The aforementioned color scheme has been approved and protected by prior judgment of this Court, to protect commercial use of this vehicle color in the Plaintiff's area of business, which is journalism and news broadcasting, similar to the Defendant's field of commerce, while the Defendant has nonetheless engaged in the audacious act of copying the vehicle color scheme and even attempting to claim ownership of it through an improperly formatted filing, [Click here for review].
On the 13th of July, 2025, the First Judicial District Court of San Andreas approved and granted copyright protections to the Plaintiff, covering, inter alia:
The presented approval explicitly mentions that "judgment of similarity shall be determined by a District Judge of the First Judicial District Court of San Andreas" in cases of potential violation. Plaintiff has since continuously used the Dark Blue and Black color scheme on its Newsvans in the course of their commercial use. The Defendant has painted an identical color scheme on its own fleet of Newsvans, consisting of Dark Blue and Black combinations, in a manner likely to cause confusion. It is worthy of the Court's attention to take note that the approved Copyright Patent of the Newsweek San Andreas is still effective to this date, and until the 13th of July, 2026. Additionally, the Plaintiff, through its legal representative, made attempts on 15th and 16th of August, 2025, to contact Stateline Network regarding this dispute in an effort to reach a settlement, however, these attempts were ignored by the Defendant both on the phone call and email correspondence, while there was limited communication and an incomplete exchange of documents between the legal representatives of Newsweek San Andreas and Stateline Network, no response was ever provided, thus, the Plaintiff is left with no choice but to pursue litigatory steps.

Evidence of prior attempt of settlement before taking legal actions in this Court:
*** For clarification regarding this correspondence: NSA's copyright and trademark protections, covering its distinctive color scheme, were approved by the Court on the 13th of July, 2025, these protections remain in full legal effect until the 13th of July, 2026. The similarities between SLN's vans and those of NSA create a clear likelihood of public confusion, which is precisely the type of harm that copyright and trademark protections are intended to prevent. SLN's claim that the NSA lacks protection is incorrect, the Court's approval is a matter of record, and NSA holds priority rights in this matter.
III. PRAYER FOR RELIEF
The Plaintiff seeks judicial recognition of this infringement, the immediate cessation of Defendant's illegitimate practices, withdrawal of its pending Copyright Patent application, and full compensatory damages together with attorney's fees and all costs of this litigation. Wherefore, the Plaintiff respectfully requests that this Court enforce judgment against the Defendant as follows:

Regarding your recent allegation about the use of a black-and-blue color scheme,
I am reaching out to you in my role as StateLine News' legal representative. Upon close examination, it is clear that:
Before the creation of our current branding, your organization was ((inactive)) and formally shut down, so it is no longer in operation and currently not in any kind of official presence.
There is no chance of confusion in the marketplace because StateLine News uses a different shade and arrangement of colors than those traditionally associated with your agency.
Without a distinctive and currently registered trademark FOR THIS PARTICULAR SHADE AND LOOK, which your company does not currently possess, color combinations by themselves are not protected unless presented with the correct evidence that matches our current trademark usage.
By these facts, there is no legal position to your claim, and continuing in regard to this matter would be time-consuming and will not bring any benefit for either of these sides.
We nicely ask that you withdraw your complaint immediately, please. And would like to inform you that we are fully prepared to defend our cause here.
We look forward to resolving this matter without the need for escalation.
Sincerely,
Flavius Belisarius
Representing the StateLine News.
