B. Motivations and Personality
What are you motivations for joining the San Andreas Fire Department? [Minimum 50 words]
My primary motivation is wanting to play a much bigger part than what I currently do as a volunteer. I wish to be a role model to the newcomers of this demanding yet rewarding job, as well as to the people who come to us for help. Everyone needs a guardian angel, and I want to continue being just that for our citizens to an even greater extent – someone they can count on in their worst moments of life.
I have been treated with nothing but respect ever since I started this duty voluntarily by not only the superiors, but by the fellow volunteers as well. Helping maintain this healthy environment will mean a lot to me, and in doing so, I can also motivate other qualified people to consider applying too. I think of this to be a worthwhile and stable job that I can commit to long-term without any regrets.
Describe with your own words, what does it mean to be a Firefighter or alternatively, a Paramedic [Minimum 50 words]:
Being a paramedic means much more than performing CPR or giving ambulance rides. It means being on stand-by at all times, ready to put everyone else first and safeguard their well-being. Whether you are taking part in a coordinated rescue operation, performing a welfare check on someone who might be in harm's way, or simply prescribing medication, you are caring for the public.
Paramedics are the heroes that do not wear capes. They are present in every stage of every person's life, from birth to the geriatric years. Without these professionals who dedicate their lives to helping others' lives, humanity would not survive as it does today. The job's nature is nerve-wracking, but someone has to do it. I am confident that I have what it takes to be that specific someone.
