San Andreas Highway Patrol recognizes Its personnel's through various medals and awards to honor exceptional service, acts of heroism, and outstanding performance. Some of the notable medals and awards include:

3-Months Service
Awarded to Troopers, who have served continuously for the department for three months.

6-Months Service
Awarded to Troopers, who have served continuously for the department for six months.

9-Months Service
Awarded to Troopers, who have served continuously for the department for nine months.

12-Months Service
Awarded to Troopers, who have served continuously for the department for twelve months.

Life Saving Medal
Awarded to Troopers, who have saved a colleague or citizen from direct/life threatening danger.

Public Safety Medal
Awarded to Troopers, who have demonstrated exceptional bravery, dedication, and service in safeguarding public safety.

Medal of Valor
Awarded in recognition of Trooper's exceptional bravery, heroism, and distinguished service in the line of duty.

Courage & Leadership Medal
This medal acknowledges Troopers, who have displayed heroic acts of valor and have shown exemplary leadership qualities that contribute to maintaining law and order, often risking their own safety to protect others.

Public Service Medal
Awarded for meritorious service, that contributes significantly to the Highway Patrol's mission, often highlighting exemplary conduct, professionalism, and commitment over a sustained period.

Trooper of the Month
This award is a recognition, given to a Trooper, who has demonstrated exceptional performance, dedication, professionalism, and service during a month's time.

Activity Award
Awarded to Troopers, who have shown exceptional and high activity while performing their duties in the Department.


Field Training Officer (FTO) Award
Awarded to personnel who demonstrate exceptional leadership, mentorship, and professionalism in the training and development of probationary Troopers and cadets. Recipients are recognized for maintaining the department’s operational standards through exemplary instruction, guidance, and field evaluation.


K-9 Service Award
Awarded to personnel assigned to the K-9 Unit who demonstrate exceptional dedication, operational effectiveness, and professionalism in the deployment and handling of police service canines. Recipients are recognized for their commitment to public safety, tactical support operations, suspect apprehension, detection work, and the continued readiness of their K-9 partners.


Unit Citation Award
Awarded to a unit or team that demonstrates exceptional performance, coordination, and professionalism during a significant operation or critical incident. Recipients are recognized for collective actions that reflect outstanding service, operational excellence, and dedication to the department’s mission.


Iron Trooper Award
Awarded to personnel who consistently demonstrate dependability, initiative, and a strong operational presence across all departmental functions. Recipients are recognized for their ability to maintain stability, support operations, and contribute meaningfully to the effectiveness of SAHP without requiring direct supervision.


Iron Star
The highest tier of the Iron Trooper distinction, awarded to personnel whose sustained influence and contribution significantly strengthen departmental cohesion and operational continuity. Recipients are regarded as cornerstone members whose reliability and consistent support elevate overall unit performance and readiness.
