What are your motivations for joining the San Andreas Fire Department? [Minimum 50 words]
The decision of applying for the San Andreas Fire Department is due to my strong will to protect and serve the community. What I look forward to the most is working in public safety which enables me to work with a team and take on challenges that are both mentally and physically demanding. It's right in line with my principles to be a part a of a team whose goal is to protect and secure other people. It brings great satisfaction to me knowing that I get to wade through different calls and challenges, improve myself, and serve a reputable organization. This is a role where I can actually practice making a difference, which has always been one of the foremost goals in my career ambitions.
Describe with your own words, what does it mean to be a Firefighter or alternatively, a Paramedic [Minimum 50 words]:
Paramedics are trained to give advanced help in crisis circumstances. Responding paramedics need to evaluate patients in seconds, administer lifesaving treatments immediately, then transport them safely to a medical facility. As such, compassion, knowledge of medicine, and the ability to handle extreme pressure are imperative. As the first responders to a medical call, they are a link between an emergency scene and a hospital.
