3. SELF ASSESSMENT ESSAYS
- Why do you wish to join the National Guard?: goal. As a probationary officer in the SAPD with experience in the FBI, SWAT, and USNSF, I've gained a lot of knowledge in law enforcement and tactical operations. But I don't want to limit myself to just being a police officer- I want to do more. The National Guard is about protecting the country in times of need, and I do believe that my skills and my experience can be useful. I'm ready to take on the responsibility and do my part in keeping everyone safe.
- What makes you different than other candidates?: Personally, I take full responsibility for my own actions, no excuses. I believe that a good soldier or officer owns up to their decisions and always works on improving himself. At the same time, I also believe that teamwork is the backbone of everything. No matter how skilled someone is, without trust and coordination, nothing gets done. I've worked in several high-pressure situations with my colleagues from SAPD and I am more than confident that I could prove myself of being worthy for a position in NG.
