STATE OF SAN ANDREAS

SHERIFF DEPARTMENT

LATERAL TRANSFERS

LATERAL TRANSFER CRITERIA

The San Andreas Sheriff's Department alongside the San Andreas Police Department has opened a new lateral program for candidates who are interested in transferring between departments. In order to submit a lateral transfer request, one must fulfill below criteria:
  • Has a rank equal to or higher than Police Officer I;
  • Not have been discharged, the only exception is if they have resigned from the other department from a period not exceeding one week;
  • Informed the other department's command before submitting a request, whether they have resigned as specified in point two or are still a sworn employee;
  • Not have received a punishment on their other department's employee record for two weeks;
  • Have been continually employed with their current department for one month;
  • Deputy Sheriff Bonus I and above that wish to transfer to SAPD must first inform SASD's Command Staff. If you are a Trainee or Deputy Sheriff, you may not directly transfer and instead are required to resign.

    A transferee may not receive a rank higher than Deputy Sheriff Bonus I or Police Officer II unless they had a previous employment record with the department OR with exceptions after discussions with the other department. The transferee may not transfer back to their previous department within a month of their transfer. The transferee may not address their previous department in an inappropriate manner when in public during or after the transferring process.

    Both the Sheriff's Department and the other department must practice common courtesy when dealing with lateral transfers and both must exert efforts to ensure that the transferee is in full compliance with the criteria above. The transferee may inform the Sheriff's Command Staff if they believe that the department they're transferring from is trying to sabotage the transferring process or intimidate them in any way.

    Lying or providing inaccurate information in the lateral transfer request will result in instant denial and ineligibility to transfer. To submit a lateral transfer request CLICK HERE
