Governor Announces Updates to Law Enforcement Vehicle Regulations
San Andreas – Governor Cyd Parker today announced important updates to the regulations governing law enforcement vehicles across the state. These changes come as part of an ongoing effort to ensure greater visibility, recognition, and flexibility for law enforcement agencies while maintaining their professionalism in serving the community.
Effective immediately, the amendment to
SA-PSC § II.3.1. Law Enforcement Vehicles introduces the following updates:
1.
San Andreas Police Department (SAPD) will continue using
black and white marked vehicles. However,
command and supervisory vehicles will now be allowed to adopt alternative colors to ensure they stand out from the rest. All SAPD vehicles will feature numberplates marked with
"POLICE" in blue.
2.
San Andreas Sheriff Department vehicles will now adopt a
green color scheme for marked vehicles, with numberplates that display
"SHERIFF" in green.
3.
San Andreas Highway Patrol (SAHP) will transition to using
white marked vehicles. Their numberplates will be marked with
"HIGHWAY" in yellow.
4.
San Andreas National Guard will have the option to use vehicles in
forest green or
desert yellow, with numberplates displaying
"ARMY" in green.
In addition, each law enforcement agency will now be permitted to deploy
one special vehicle to participate in and promote important causes or events, such as
Cancer Awareness Month, Halloween, Christmas, or other internationally recognized holidays and awareness campaigns.
Governor
Cyd Parker commented on the new measures:
"These changes are designed to give our law enforcement agencies the tools they need to remain visible and recognizable, while also connecting with the communities they serve. The addition of special vehicles for awareness events allows them to show support for important causes and celebrations alongside the people of San Andreas."
The new regulations aim to enhance the effectiveness and community presence of San Andreas law enforcement, ensuring that they continue to protect and serve with pride and distinction.
